Upstate Auto Service & Body Works in Saranac Lake has been serving Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Lake Placid, Plattsburgh, Malone NY and the surrounding areas, since 1954. We are looking for a skilled and experienced candidate as an Auto Mechanic to join our service team. We offer a well lit and clean work environment.
Job Overview:
As an Auto Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing customer vehicles. We are currently seeking a candidate with a higher level of skills and abilities. However, we will consider a candidate with basic skills with the desire to learn and excel. We offer continual technical training in every aspect of automotive repair. Responsibilities:
*Read repair order to determine the customer concern.
*Initiate the repair with a test drive and/or visual inspection to determine the cause of the concern.
*Once the concern has been correctly identified, proceed to Repair or replace broken and damaged part.
*After the repair has been completed, a test drive must done to verify that the concern has been corrected.
*Provide complete preventive maintenance work such as replacing filters, oil change, wheel bal- ancing, and engine tune-ups.
*Maintain and repair vehicles using computerized diagnostic.
*Maintain a neat work space.
*Maintain proper personal hygiene.
Requirements:
*Must own appropriate tools.
*High school diploma or Vocational institute certification.
*A valid Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification will be an advantage.
*Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles.
*Positive, Professional attitude.
*Strong mechanic skills.
*Ability to work well with others.
*Good time management skills.
