In this role, you will serve as the frontline technical expert maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing the fleet of autonomous vehicles (AVs). The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of automotive systems (mechanical, electrical, and software) as well as AV-specific hardware (LiDAR, cameras, radars, and embedded compute systems). You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and remote support teams to keep vehicles safe, available, and mission-ready. Requirements Required 3+ years automotive technician experience, or equivalent vocational/technical training. Proficient diagnosing & repairing mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems (CAN, HV systems, sensors) Comfortable working with EVs and hybrid drive systems. Strong computer skills: diagnostic software, google suite, JIRA, database logging. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with engineers, operations teams. Strong safety-first mindset, familiar with OSHA or equivalent procedures . As an Autonomous Vehicle Technician, you’ll: Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and scheduled maintenance on AVs, including ADAS sensors and base vehicle systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and computer-based issues using OEM tools and proprietary diagnostic platforms. Respond rapidly via Slack to faults or alerts, resolving issues or coordinating vehicle recovery. Facilitate hardware/software retrofits and updates, collaborating closely with engineering teams. Document all work: fault logs, resolutions, parts used, and vehicle downtime. Ensure fleet vehicles are show-ready for deployments or demos.
