Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer III C
Location: Onsite – Denver, CO
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Pay Range: $58/hr.

Our client is seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer III to lead and execute electrical design projects for mission-critical facilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate across disciplines to produce construction documentation, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes, and support commissioning and startup activities. This role requires strong technical expertise, innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects across geographic regions.

Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems for data centers and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to produce construction document sets.
  • Develop designs that meet quality, budgetary, and code requirements.
  • Work with local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements, including building codes.
  • Review and approve equipment submittals.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests before and during construction.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams to test, validate, and ensure proper operation of electrical systems.
  • Travel to project sites as needed for reviews, audits, and startup support.
  • Provide creative, innovative solutions to engineering challenges while maintaining safety, quality, and reliability.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 12+ years of relevant electrical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical design.
  • 9+ years of experience developing design documentation for construction and/or permitting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects, large-scale technical operations, or significant upgrade projects.
  • Detailed understanding of UPS, diesel generators, switchgear, PDUs, VFDs, and automatic/static transfer switches.
  • Ability to research and implement new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center facilities.
