PURPOSE:

The purpose of this job is to handle public inquiries, review, evaluate incoming transfer credit, process transcript and diploma orders, and support transfer students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the public with inquiries including face-to-face, answering telephone, and email.
  • Maintain file system - Updating and maintaining student files.
  • Data entry.
  • Evaluate transfer credit or manage evaluation process with subject matter experts in relevant academic departments.
  • Maintain information pertaining to external credit on college website.
  • Packaging and mailing diplomas.
  • Helping with student requests (major changes, schedule changes, address updates, etc.).
  • Sending student correspondence (letters and emails).
  • Operate a variety of modern office equipment in performing routine tasks such as facsimile machines, copy machines, calculators, computer terminals, and phone systems.
  • Deliver and pick up mail.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma with experience in higher education.
  • 1+ year experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and experience in higher education desired. Knowledge,

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
  2. Light sedentary office work.
  3. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  4. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Work performed in a general office environment.
  2. May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods.
  3. Overtime work may be required on occasions, dependent on workload and work objectives.
  4. Travel on occasion may be required as it relates to position's responsibilities.
