Job Summary The Auto Technician / Mechanic is responsible for conducting basic vehicle diagnostics and performing routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The position delivers exceptional 5 Star service to guests through effective communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions, consistently meeting guest expectations for time commitments and quality. Responsibilities Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services and repairs; audit inspections performed by the General Service Technicians. Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading and stocking inventory; utilize company truck to pick up inventory as needed. Assist with general store duties, ensuring the store is in excellent condition, maintained to Monro standards for cleanliness, and consistently guest ready. Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety and compliance procedures. Test drive vehicles in accordance with Monro Road Test policy, utilizing dedicated test drive routes while maintaining traffic and safety laws. Understand and adhere to company policies, OSHA standards, safety, and environmental codes; consistently use required personal protective devices such as safety glasses. Maintain technical knowledge by completing all required Monro University training courses and modules on time. Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment safely per Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes. Perform other duties as assigned and required.
